Roman Reigns vs The Rock

The Survivor Series 2025 once again features Roman Reigns as the star of the main event, where a team of celebrities is brought to the men-only WarGames. Although the fans are anticipating this monumental battle, most people have begun reviewing the previous times Reigns appeared in the show to establish his position in the list of the greatest WWE superstars of all time.

Reigns is commonly spoken of in the same context as legends such as John Cena and Brock Lesnar, but another significant comparison comes from within his family – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. As both the greats have strong legacies, the pivotal question is – who has given better performances at Survivor Series?

Reigns’ Journey Of Power And Setbacks At Survivor Series

Roman Reigns has managed to create a wonderful legacy at Survivor Series through his performance that highlighted the event of WWE the most, and his incredible performance was often one of the major factors of those events. The whole thing started in the year 2013, when Reigns was part of a traditional 5-on-5 elimination match with The Shield and the Real Americans.

Reigns was the man in the spotlight, as he eliminated four opponents without the help of his partners, thus giving the victory to his team. Just two years later, Survivor Series 2015 was a night full of fights for Reigns and one of the busiest nights of his career.

Instead of the traditional elimination match, Reigns participated in the tournament for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He became champion together with Alberto Del Rio in the semis and vs Dean Ambrose in the final on his way to the final. However, the celebration of the winner did not last long. Sheamus scored in the main event that very night ,and the celebrations of Reigns were followed by grief. Despite all the ups and downs, his strength, resilience and stardom have always been witnessed to be there during the night.

How Dwayne Johnson Built His Survivor Series Legacy

Dwayne Johnson’s route to the WWE was not only characterised by his tumultuous moments but also by his significant moments that defined unshakable success. He didn’t have even a single match in Survivor Series 2-0 Reigns count because he took frequent long breaks from WWE. Dwayne Johnson’s first appearance in the ring as Rocky Maivia in 1996 at Survivor Series got him two eliminations and the victory as the ultimate survivor, that made him very popular.

In due time, he switched sides and became a part of the Nation of Domination, and the following year he was again in an elimination match but lost this time. The performer participated in ten times the Survivor Series matches during his lifetime, and nearly five of them were in 1998, so at the very least, it can be said that the WWE storylines of that time almost literally showed the significance of his character.

The Rock Surpasses Roman Reigns

It does not matter what type of match it was, he still maintains an 8-2 record compared to 7-3 of Reigns. This translates to the fact that the champion of the people has performed slightly better than the OTC.

However, Reigns still has numerous years in his WWE career, and Johnson is seen a few times at best and not as a wrestler. Still, Reigns has a lot of years left in his WWE career, while Johnson appears only rarely and not even as a wrestler.
