Delhi Weather Update: After a brief improvement in the overall air quality, the pollution levels declined again across the capital on Tuesday. The Air Quality Index remains under the ‘very poor’ category at 371 at 9 am today (December 3, 2025), according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Several locations, however, fall under the ‘severe’ range as the AQI breached the 400 mark.

Smog engulfed the national capital region during the early morning hours today, sparking health concerns among the residents. The area around Akshardham was shrouded by a layer of toxic smog as the AQI dipped to 401 under the ‘severe’ category. India Gate, Anand Vihar, and Kartavya Path also witnessed reduced visibility after air quality declined to hazardous levels.

AQI Readings In Other Areas Of Delhi Today

Wazirpur registered an AQI of 315 under the ‘poor’ category this morning, while the air quality plummeted to 295 in Sonia Vihar. ‘Severe’ AQI of 400 was recorded in the Chandni Chowk area at 9 am today.

AQI plunged to 328 in Jahangirpuri, while nsit Dwarka recorded an air quality index of 377 at 9 am on December 3. The other areas include Rohini (305), Bawana (321), Vivek Vihar (267), Patparganj (258), Nehru Nagar (314), Siri Fort (292), Ashok Vihar (252), Okhla Phase 2 (285), Lodhi Road 2 (199), Najafgarh (212), and Sri Aurobindo Marg (206).

Delhi Weather Forecast: Yellow Alert On December 5…

The AQI is unlikely to improve anytime soon in Delhi-NCR. There is no forecast for rain in the next six days. Delhi will see a mainly cloudy sky on December 4, with shallow fog blanketing the city during the early morning hours.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) sounded a yellow alert on December 5. Partly cloudy sky along with shallow fog and cold-wave conditions is expected over the capital. Thereafter, till December 9th, shallow fag will continue to blanket the city.

Delhi AQI: Check Forecast For Next Two Days

According to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi, the air quality will likely be in the ‘very poor’ category until December 5, 2025. The outlook for the subsequent 6 Days shows the AQI in the ‘very poor’ category.
