Delhi Shalimar Bagh B MCD By-Election Results 2025: Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Anita Jain has emerged victorious in the high-stakes Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) by-elections from the Shalimar Bagh B ward. She registered a win by 10,101 votes after defeating AAP candidate Babita Rana Ahlawat.
BJP candidate Suman Kumar Gupta wins the MCD by-elections for the Chandni Chowk seat, AAP’s Ramswaroop Kanojia wins the Dakshinpuri seat, and BJP’s Anita Jain wins Shalimar Bagh.

Who is Anita Jain?
BJP candidate Anita holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, according to reports. According to the election affidavit, she holds movable assets worth Rs 58,90,173, along with Rs 95,000 in cash.
Anita Jain defeated Congress candidate Sarita Kumari and Independents Bindu and Sushila to reclaim Rekha Gupta’s bastion. Earlier in November, the Delhi CM led a roadshow in support of Jain contesting from the Shalimar Bagh-B ward, as candidates from other parties filed their nominations.

Shalimar Bagh B saw a total voter turnout of 37.53 per cent. This Ward, number 56, reserved for females, is an important seat for the BJP as the ward was formerly held by Delhi CM Rekha Gupta. She remained the councilor here before winning the Delhi assembly election and becoming the Chief Minister.
MCD by-election vote counting
Vote counting for the MCD by-polls in 12 wards began at 8 am on Wednesday (December 3). The elections were seen as a crucial test for the ruling BJP, particularly the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party, who lost their grip in the capital.
