MIW vs UPWW: Harleen’s masterclass ends Mumbai’s winning streak by 7 wickets

MIW vs UPWW Match Report: In a thrilling encounter at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, the UP Warriorz (UPW) finally broke their losing streak, defeating the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) by 7 wickets.

Anchored by a masterful half-century from Harleen Deol, the Warriorz successfully chased down a target of 162 to register their first points of the WPL 2026 season.

Sciver-Brunt Leads the Charge

MI’s innings got off to a sluggish start as the openers struggled to find their rhythm on a slow Navi Mumbai track. Amanjot Kaur played a steady hand of 38, but the real impetus came from Nat Sciver-Brunt.

Coming in at a crucial juncture, Sciver-Brunt smashed 65 off 43 balls, shifting the momentum in the back half of the innings. Despite losing skipper Harmanpreet Kaur for 16, a late cameo from Nicola Carey (25* off 16) helped Mumbai post a competitive total of 161.

Harleen Deol’s Redemption

The Warriorz chase began with intent. While the openers provided a platform, it was the middle-order partnership between Harleen Deol and Phoebe Litchfield that dismantled the MI bowling attack.

Harleen Deol, under pressure after three quiet games, looked in sublime touch, scoring an unbeaten 64 off 39 balls. She found able support in Litchfield and later Chloe Tryon, who finished the game in style with a flurry of boundaries. The Warriorz reached the target with 11 balls to spare, handing Mumbai their second defeat of the tournament.
