Delhi-NCR Weather Update: Delhi-NCR recorded a slight improvement in air quality after a day-long rainy spell on Friday, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds that lashed the cities. The national capital woke up to calm and cool weather today as minimum temperatures remained between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius. The sudden change in weather is attributed to an active western disturbance moving across north India.
AQI improves to 264
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted colder weather conditions ahead in Delhi, with shallow to moderate fog persisting during morning hours. As the showers reduced dust levels in the air, bringing temporary relief from deteriorating pollution levels, the Air Quality Index touched 264 under the ‘poor’ category at 7 am on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Delhi weather forecast for next 5 days
Delhi will see partly cloudy weather with shallow to moderate fog during the morning hours on January 25 and 26. Transportation services may be affected on the 27th as IMD has forecast very light to light rain during the forenoon and post-noon hours. Thereafter, the city will witness generally cloudy skies along with shallow to moderate fog until January 29.
Delhi-NCR to witness intensified fog, cold wave
As per the IMD forecast, January 24 is expected to be colder, with the maximum temperature around 16 to 18 degrees Celsius and the minimum dipping to nearly 6 degrees Celsius. The northwest winds are likely to intensify the chill during early mornings and late-night hours. Moderate fog conditions are very likely to grip the national capital region, affecting visibility and causing significant travel disruptions.
Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad weather forecast
Partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers is expected in Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad on January 27 and 28.
