Former Pakistan cricketer accuses ICC of bias, comes in support of Bangladesh ahead of T20 World Cup

Former Pakistani cricketer, Mohammad Yousuf, is now at the center of an highly sensitive debate in world cricket as far as its governing code is concerned. Speaking to X after being asked about Bangladeshi team’s matches being impacted due to security reasons, former captain Mohammad Yousuf opined that:

“Very sad to see a cricket-loving nation like Bangladesh being deprived of cricket due to security concerns not being addressed. When similar concerns were raised earlier, a neutral venue was approved. Standards cannot change from country to country. ICC must act as the International Cricket Council, not appear to serve the interests of any single board. Fairness and consistency are the foundation of global cricket.”

In his message, he first praised Bangladesh’s love for cricket, then discussed the question of precedence by pointing out that when the same issue had arisen in the past.

Yousuf compared it with the instances that have happened with Pakistan and supported Bangladesh since the team will now be missing out on T20 World Cup. He laid down big allegations against ICC and openly spoke about the so called unfair treatment both Pakistan and Bangladesh have received.
