Wicketkeeper-batter Shai Hope will lead the West Indies team in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. On Monday, 26th January, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) announced the 15-player squad on X for the upcoming 20-team tournament. The matches will take place at five venues in India and three in Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
What players are included in the squad?
The West Indies squad includes players like Jason Holder, Rovman Powell, Roston Chase, Sherfane Rutherford, Shimron Hetmyer and Romario Shepherd, among others. However, former IPL opener Evin Lewis, who has played for Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants, was unexpectedly left out.
In the two opening matches of the short series against Afghanistan in Dubai, the veteran 34-year-old lefty struggled to play well. He took part in both games but failed to live up to expectations before the series ended.
