Uber has introduced a new feature called Concurrent Rides in India, allowing users to book up to three rides at once. Users can pay the driver directly in cash or through the app. This feature will be rolled out gradually, but there is no information yet on which cities will have access to it.
With this feature, when a user books a ride for a friend or family member, they will receive ride details on WhatsApp as well as via text message. The details will include the driver’s name and a four-digit PIN.
The ride will begin once the four-digit PIN is shared with the driver. The Concurrent Ride feature is already available in many countries besides India.
In addition, the company introduced the round trip feature for users in December last year. This feature allows users to book the same car and driver for a round trip lasting up to five days, which is especially useful for long-distance travel. Business travelers and vacationers benefit the most from this service, which includes waiting time and driver’s stay charges.
OLA may face a problem with this service by Uber
Ola may face increased competition due to Uber’s new feature. Uber allows users to book three rides at once, while Ola only allows two rides. Additionally, Ola does not offer the option to make two bookings with a single payment. To book two rides on Ola, users must choose different payment methods or pay in cash.
