Suzuki has taken the initiative of competing against the EV competitors with the launch of their new Suzuki E Access. The vehicle would probably be manufactured in India and would further be sold in overseas market.
The scooter has been launched by the name of E-access in India and would be known as the e-address in the overseas market. This would be the EV version of the 125 cc combustion version of the Access that has been on sale for quite sometime in India. The launch is one of the first step taken in the direction of a carbon neutral society, and Suzuki would soon be launching more EV vehicles in the Indian market.
Performance Specs
As per the specs shared by Suzuki the E-Access would be powered by a 3.07 KWH LFP battery and the the full range of the vehicle upon a charge would be around 95 km. The swingarm mounted motor in the scooter would propel it with the power of around 4.1kw and a peak torque of 15 nm. The Top speed would be anywhere around 71 kph.
Charging Capabilities- Suzuki has pledged to provide a 240 w charger with the vehicle, and the battery can charge up to 80% from zero in only about 4 hr 30 minutes. The scooter also supports fast charging and would charge upto to 80% within 1 hour and 12 minutes.
E-Access Styling Changes
Suzuki has given the scooter a completely new styling that allows the vehicle to have a very different look than that of the ICE version of the Access 125. Despite that, thanks to Suzuki’s engineering the vehicle would have a slightly higher ground clearance. The weight of the scooter would be around 122 kg which makes it even heavier than the petrol scooter that it would be sold along with.
As per Motorcycle News.com, Suzuki has chosen a specific battery style that would allow the users to have under seat storage. Suzuki had previously showcased a E-Burgman as well and the new EV Access is not based on the same platform
The Scooter would have a telescopic suspension upfront along with a monoshock at the rear. The Scooter would also have a disc Drum setup for better braking ability along the road.
Honda Activa-E
The Honda Activa-E has been launched and is yet to be delivered by Honda. The scooter would have new features such as a TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, incoming call alerts as well as navigation.
