As per a recent news report Hyundai has shifted its emphasized focus from EV production. Rather the company has decided to move ahead in a different direction and start the production of HYBRID vehicle Engines (HEV). With a sudden interruption in EV sales the brand has seemingly decided to move on with Hybrid engine production in its Monterrey, Nuevo Leon Mexico plant.
The Brand has decided to move on this direction after witnessing the surging demand of HEV’s in north America. The Hybrid vehicles provide a easier change for the normal conventional car user than a EV. The HYBRID provides a user to seamlessly shift to gasoline powered vehicle as well as a EV powered car with ease without any major hassles. Plus most HYBRID vehicles also have a mode where the engine drive is complemented by the Electric drive of the batteries on board.
Why Has Hyundai Chosen Mexico As A Hub For Hybrid Engine Production
The Cost effective production along with the logistical advantages has been the reason behind Hyundai choosing Mexico has a safe haven for production. Mexico has become a major hub for automotive manufacturing , skilled labour along with a strategic geographical advantage has helped Mexico in reaching such a reputation. But the upcoming tariffs on different nations that ship goods beyond borders might impact the decision in future.
Erev Engine Production
Its possible that Hyundai might expand the operations in Mexico with the growing demand for Extended-Range Electric Vehicles set to launch in North America. Hyundai has further also established a new manufacturing plan in India in Chennai. Here they would be producing a wide range of EV components necessary for EV production. Beyond that if Hybrid vehicles become the proffered choice of Indians in India its possible that Hyundai might start the production of their new Hybrid engines in India as well. Since no other competitor apart from Honda and Suzuki have a full fledged Hybird models, this new system can easily help Hyundai gain a formidable position and lead in the Indian market.
