Royal Enfield has shoehorned their premier classic 650 parallel twin into the classic’s chassis with new subtle design changes that further enhance the appeal of the bike. The bike is the successor to the classic 500. The new 650cc bike could be the go-to choice for many who seek a highway tourer with added capabilities of a more powerful engine and tubeless tires specifically meant for helping riders on long tours. Royal Enfield has divided the variants into Hot Rod , Classic and Chrome.
The bike would be placed above the Interceptor 650 and the continental Gt 650 and below the cruiser range, which consists of Super Meteor 650 and the Shotgun 650.
New Bike Details
The classic has a seat height of 800mm beyond that the weight of the bike is around 243 Kg, while the weight would make negligible difference when the bike is in motion but when moving the bike around on foot the users would be able to get a feel of the heft of the bike. The bike would continue to use a semi digital display.
The 648 cc parallel twin air-cooled engine has good lower-end grunt and torque and has been optimized for touring rather than intercity commutes. Users who plan to use the bike for intercity commutes be ready to cajole the hefty bike along with the massive heat that the air-cooled engine would emit on your legs.
