A recent partnership that has spawned in between Starte School of Design and Tata motors has come up with a concept car that features such as self driving capabilities. The car indicates towards new innovations that can be used for delivery procedures and could be an efficient solution to commutes and parcel. The Development is being dine under the Moniker Tata Yu.
The impetus behind the new development came when the two architects of the Tata Yu group witnessed that the parcels and Cargo were using the same route as commuters , However the parcels and the passengers were transported separately. Hence they planned to come up with a range of automobiles that can do both the tasks at once, take along passengers along with parcels that are directed towards a similar destination.
Design New Innovations
The design has not been finalized and only a concept vehicle has been showcased to the users. The cargo vehicle would most possibly be a 3700mm long and a 1500mm wide and 1800 m in height. The car has been designed in such a way that it has a separate compartment where the passengers can sit in. Other than having a usual EV powertrain the vehicle would have hub-mounted motors. Other than this no details about the battery capacity of the motor capacity have been revealed.
Idea Behind The New Creation
The Novel idea behind the concept showcases the possibility of conjoining two diverse worlds, one of cargo delivery along that of a passenger vehicle. The possibility of this idea taking over requires a broader and expansive integration of such passenger cargo vehicles in the mainstream. Which could be a challenge. The new system would further require a whole system of self-driving vehicles that have proven their capabilities for e-commerce websites to trust them along with the general passengers. Although a new innovative approach stemming from a profound vision but rather too ambitious for the current scenario. In the upcoming years, it may become a reality.
