Made In India Honda Elevate Scores A Perfect 5-Star Crash Test Safety Rating In Japan! Scores Detailed News24 –
Honda Elevate, the mid size SUV manufactured in India recently went through a crash test to determine the safety that the car could provide for its occupants when under a crash. The car has seemingly achieved a 5-star safety rating in the Japan New Car Assessment program ( JNCAP). The Elevate is currently manufactured in India is sold as WR-V in the Japanese Domestic Market. The car is one of the first vehicles ever to have been manufactured in India and shipped to the Japanese domestic market.
Safety Score
The car was tested against several safety standards that the board has pre-determined to analyse the safety of the vehicle. The occupant protection received 57.73 points, the pedestrian safety stood at 28.28 points. In the full frontal collision test the car was able to score a splendid 96% protection score for the driver and 88% for the rear seat passengers. In The offset collision test the vehicle was able to provide its rear passengers with 89.6% driver protection while the rear passengers received a 100% rating. The vehicle also scored maximum points in the side impact test. Beyond these tests, the car was also tested for pedestrian safety and scored a 2.91 out of 4 for head protection and a full 4 out of 4 for leg protection.
Design And Features
Launched in 2023, the Honda Elevate would compete against the likes of Hyundai Creta, KIA Seltos and Toyota Hyryder. The car delivers it with an eclectic mix of features and performance. The feature list of the car includes an electric Sunroof, six airbags, A 10.25 inch touchscreen and Honda’s ADAS suite known as Honda Sensing- this would include features like lane-keeping assist and collision mitigation braking.
The car is powered by a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine delivering a 119 BHP and a 145 NM of peak Torque. Available In both CVT and manual gearboxes. The car is manufactured at Honda’s manufacturing facility in Tapukara Rajasthan- The Elevate has been able to spearhead Honda’s export plans outside India. The car is yet to undergo Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP safety tests in India.
