The upcoming month would mark a significant change for the Auto Industry as a slew of new cars are to be launched soon. From the new Carens to the updated MG Windsor, here are all the vehicles that are to be expected to launch in May. The launch details have been based on the preliminary sightings of the vehicle during testing and hence its highly likely that these vehicles would be launched in May.
KIA Carens
One of the most highly anticipated vehicles would be the KIA Carens MPV. Although the car is being given a new avatar with a facelift the new Carens would continue to be sold alongside the older Carens. The spyshots of the new Carens have revealed that the car would be given a profound redesign with a stance similar to an SUV and Headlights that have been inspired by KIA’s international models. The engine options that would continue to be offered with the Carens would be the 1.5 petrol engine that produces 115hp, , the 1.5 Litre Turbo Petrol and 116 HP, and the 1.5 litre diesel are offered in the more premium MPV. It’s possible that the car would be launched with a new name to differentiate it from the existing Carens in the KIA line up
Tata Altroz FaceLift –
Beyond the Carens the Altorz hatchback would be given a facelift as well along with new powertrain options and new features. The car has not received such an update ever since its launch in 2020. New Spyshots have revealed that the car would be launched with a new facelift along with a CNG powertrain that is still being offered on the current Tata Altroz variants. Expected to be launched in late May new Altroz would remain mechanically unchanged which means that the car would be the only hatchback to be available with a diesel engine along with CNG powertrain.
Volkswagen Golf GTi
The highly awaited Golf GTi would be brought to India as an import. This would be the second GTi badged vehicle to be launched in India as it had previously brought a 3-door Polo GTI. The car would be pretty expensive considering that it would be full import. The Golf GTi would be able to churn out a power output of around 265Hp with a peak torque figure of 370Nm, 2.0 litre Turbo petrol engine paired to a 7Speed dual clutch automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels. Being a CBU import the car would be brought to India in limited numbers. The car is expected to break cover in late May
MG Windsor With A Larger Battery
MG would be updating the Windsor with a larger battery option next month. The Windsor that is currently on sale has a 38KWH battery pack, but it gets a larger 50.6KWH battery in Indonesia which would possibly be brought to India. The battery would have a claimed range of 460 Km with 136 Hp and 200 Nm. The New Windsor would also be updated with new features and a new ADAS suite. The Car could witness further increased prices as well.
