Honda’s New Superbike To Have Clutch-less Transmission? Key Details Revealed


Honda BigWing India has teased the silhouette of a CBR 650 R on their social media. The posts caption read the words power and precision and more to come. Given that the, normal version of the bike was launched a couple of months ago the teaser could be hinting at the E -Clutch system that is available internationally with the CBR650R. 

Honda E Clutch : How Does It Work 

The system would allow the users with the function of conventional or clutch less gear shifting. The new system is also capable of taking over clutch function while starting and stopping the bike. Such features could further ensure that the bike is easier to live with and can be easily used while riding in between the traffic or on straights. Beyond the automatic functionality the manual clutch lever stays operational and can e sued at any time. 

Honda has also equipped the shifting with three modes to choose from, users can easily choose between Soft, medium and Hard resistance while upshifting or down shifting. The system would allow the user to downshift from a higher gear that is not ideal for current speed. Such features are capable of adding slayer of rider assistance without compromising the control of the bike. 

Mechanical changes? 

Visually the bike would remain the same, it would gain a few decals that would indicate its use of e clutch technology.  Its also unclear as of yet whether the new system be equipped on the CB650R or limited to the  CBR650R. The Clutch would soon make its way for the Indian versions of the Cb650R and was priced at Rs 9.99 Lakh.
