Volkswagen’s New Entrant To Compete With The Toyota Fortuner Revealed! To Launch Before Festive Season News24 –

A test mule of the Volkswagen Tayron bereft of any camouflage was spotted for the first time in India. Slated to launch here in the latter half of 2025 as successor to the now discontinued Tiguan All space. The Tayron would possibly allow Volkswagen to offer a new 3-Row premium SUV space. The Spy Shots reveal that the India specific Tayron would share most of its styling with LED headlights bridged with a black grill cover.

The Tayron test mule had the same 19 Inch alloy wheels and rear bumper design as that of its 5 seater sibling. The Rear light bar is slightly slimmer and has a different LED signature than the Tiguan Setup. An R badge was seen on the test vehicle underneath the rearview mirror, hence its possible that the Tayron would be a 3 Row- SUV in a sporty avatar.

Volkswagen Tayron Interior and Features

The Volkswagen Tayron cabin has a large button-less layout, with a 15 inch infotainment touchscreen taking prominence on the dashboard as well as a 10.25- inch all digital instrument cluster ahead of the driver. The feature list will likely include a Panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting , 3 Zone Climate Control, Wireless Phone Charging , Level 2 ADAS and More.

Volkswagen Tayron Engine and Gearbox

Under the hood the Tayron would possibly use the same 2 Litre Turbo Petrol engine as the Tiguan R line and the new Skoda Kodaiq. The engine developed 204Hp and 320Nm of torque. Beyond that it has been paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox that sends power to all three wheels. Volkswagen is planning to launch the Tayron later in India this year. As per a report by Autocar the Tayron would be brought as a CKD ( Completely Knocked Down Unit) and would be assembled at Volkswagen Aurangabad plant. The Tayron would go against the likes of Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner and Citroen C5 Aircross.
