Nissan SUV And MPV Pre Production Process Underway! More CBU’s Models Coming To India? News24 –

Nissan has been planning to launch a new MPV as well as an SUV in the Indian market soon. As per a recent interview with Autocar, MD of Nissan said that they are happy to report that the upcoming B-MPV and C-SUV pre-production has already begun at the Renault plant in Chennai. He further reported that the pre production of all their vehicles are well underway.

He further revealed, that the launch of the MPV based on the Triber would be in the first quarter of the next year. And the SUV version of the Renault duster from Nissan would arrive by the middle of the next year.

Beyond the new launch, Nissan would continue to invest in the Magnite product life cycle. This would be an integral part of the overall plans Nissan has as the compact SUV is exported to over 65 countries. Beyond that the report from Autocar also revealed that Nissan might also be planning to launch a slew of new CBU imports as well. Nissan would no longer be producing variants with diesel powertrains, rather they would be investing in CNG and Hybrid engines.

With the dwindling sales figures and brand equity, the brand has lost a bunch of dealers all over India. The future plans for Nissan are now clear, they would spawn new MPV and SUV from already existing Renault platforms to be launched under their name.

Nissan SUV Engine Specifications

As per the reports, that have been circulating over the internet, it has been alleged that the Nissan SUV would be a petrol only vehicle. The engine would be paired to a 7 Speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.

New Nissan MPV

Beyond the SUV, Nissan is also planning to launch a new MPV in December 2026. The Nissan MPV would be based on the Renault Triber that is currently being sold by Renault.  The Triber has been able to provide users with a complete package and three rows of seating at a favourable price. It’s possible that the new Nissan MPV would use the same tactic to ensure that the new MPV is ready for sale in the market.

Nissan MPV Power Specifications

Mechanically the car would be very similar to the Renault Triber, it would be powered by the same 1.0 litre Three Cylinder 72HP engine that is capable of belting out a peak torque figure of 96 Nm. The gearbox options would include a 5 Speed manual and an AMT gearbox as well.
