Tata Altroz Crash Tested! Will 6 Airbags And A Host Of Safety Features Help It Regain Its Former 5-Star Rating? News24 –

Tata seems to have left no stones unturned in the development of the all new Tata Altroz. In a recent update Tata has shared a video, showcasing the safety prowess of the car while being crash tested. While no official safety reports have yet been published by Bharat NCAP, Tata has used its safety crashes to showcase the new safety innovations that the Altroz has been equipped with. These include an overall use of high strength steel, reinforced chassis joints, and 6 air bags as standard across all models.

Beyond the safety quotient Tata has further gained an advantage by ensuring that a diesel engine is still on offer with their vehicle. Beyond that, the further addition of a possible 5 star safety rating  would further enhance the chances of the car being  a segment leader.

The car is seen being tested in a slew of different tests, the first test the car faces is a Front Offset Deformable Barrier Test. When the vehicle is going through the test, the video points out how the A pillar remains stable and does not flex under impact. Beyond that, the video also points out that the car has a stable underbody, seatbelts equipped with pre- tensioner, load limiter and crash locking tongue.  In every test the airbags opened at the right time, even in the side mobile barrier test the side airbags deployed at the right instant to ensure that there were minimal chances of impact inside the cabin.

Tata further showcases other innovations that they have instilled in the vehicle. These Include the inclusion of a reinforced firewall and Pedal blockers to further prevent feet injuries. In the side Pole crash the chassis flexed but the inclusion of curtain airbags and reinforced side structure helped the vehicle stay stable. These tests might have been Tata’s inhouse safety tests, or its possible that a comprehensive Bharat NCAP rating might soon follow. Here is how the Tata Altroz sizes up against its competitors.
