The Tata Harrier EV is all set to break cover and launch tomorrow, but before the official launch of the vehicle, Tata has showcased a new video to illustrate the off-roading prowess of the new EV SUV. The challenge has been picked to present the off-roading prowess of the Harrier EV in action. The Elephant rock that the car would ascend stands at a whopping 3937 Feet.

For such a feat, a pro off-Roader Dr. Mohammed Fahed was called upon.  His superior experience in off-roading helped him ascend the hill with ease.  The Overall ascension of the vehicle was divided into three stages, Stage 1 – a  rocky minefield with a narrow passage and continuous ascent, the second stage would be the ridge, a narrow pathway that leads to the top of the mountain.  And the third stage would be the peak which stood amid the cascading skies and clouds.

Ascension Above 3937 Foot Mountain

Stage One- that led to the climb had loose gravel and soft shallow terrain, it was important to maintain constant speed while travelling across this stage. For tackling this stage the car was switched to off road assist-mode that would possibly assist the vehicle in such circumstances. To further ensure that the driver has a clear view of the road below him Tata harrier EV would have a transparent mode that would allow the driver to keep an eye on the terrain below while driving the vehicle.

The new SUV would be equipped with a bunch of terrain modes such as the snow, sand Rock and a special mode where driving dynamics can be adjusted individually.  The Rock mode was chosen for the second part of the  rock climb to ensure that the vehicle is able to pass along the narrow passage with rocky terrain with ease.

The Instrument cluster showcased that the 4 wheels were being powered to ensure that the vehicle was able to ascend to the peak of the mountain with ease.

The Stage 3 of the incline presented with the dangers of a 34 degree incline that would test car on all fronts. To easily ascend to the top the vehicle was shifted to Boost mode where the vehicle uses all its power to easily rise up the peak of the mountain with ease. As revealed by leaks ahead of the launched the vehicle would be launched with an all new all wheel drive dual motor setup.
