Mahindra has commenced Its road testing of a new vehicle platform that looks unflinchingly like the new Bolero. There had been reports of how the car would be based on a new platform that can adapt to different powertrains and would be revealed soon around the festive season. A slew of spy shots from Motor Wagon.com have revealed a heavily camouflaged test mule, hinting at significant changes in design, proportions and underpinnings of the vehicle.
The Bolero could possibly be the first vehicle that could be based on the all new flexible architecture the (NFA) Platform. The Platform would further underpin a wide range of petrol, diesel and Hybrid variants that would help Mahindra to expand its line up with a slew of new vehicles. The overall profile of the vehicle appears boxy and muscular with squared off bold proportions. Spy images have further revealed that the car would have circular LED’s up front and Horizontal tail lamps vertically positioned at the rear, The overall design closely mimics a boxy appeals and accommodate a spare wheel mount at the rear.
The New Designs have revealed that the car would be launched with redesigned ORVMs; the doors and fenders would have pronounced creases and panels. The car would be based on a completely new platform, a monocoque chassis and the new architecture would probably support ICE, Hybrid and Electric Powertrains. The changes would help Mahindra unify future vehicular development for global and Indian markets.
Expected Powertrains and Features
Mahindra has not revealed any technical details of the vehicle, but its possible that the vehicle would be offered with an updated diesel engine and possibly a petrol hybrid variant in the Future. Other features would include a modern infotainment screen, Power Windows and updated interiors along with ABS, Airbags and improved crash safety. The Launch of the all new Bolero is expected to take place in 2026. The car would be updated with new features and better exterior updates as well.
