Mercedes Benz has issued an extensive recall for its EQS Sedan, GLS, AMG SL55 and S class over a fire hazard. This would be a sixth Voluntary recall initiated this year so far from the luxury car manufacturer. Mercedes has pointed out that at least 30 units could be at the danger of spontaneous fire accidents as per SIAM.
Mercedes has iterated that the fuse boxes might not have been rewired properly and hence as a result systems connected to the fuse might fail, and the vehicle might instantly loose on propulsion without warning. Beyond that it can also affect the instrument cluster, increasing the chances of crash and injuries. With such issues a potential thermal incident in the vehicle cannot be excluded.
Mercedes has recognized close to 16 EQS sedans that have been affected by the issue, along with 9 S classes( including Maybach) three GlC’s and Two AMG Sl’s. Mercedes, would soon be contacting owners of the affected models to fix an appointment and schedule an appointment and fix the issue without any cost involved.
