New iQube Alternative? News24 –

Expanding its electric scooter lineup, TVS is set to introduce a brand-new EV positioned below the iQube in its portfolio. Likely to be called the Orbiter, the scooter will make its official debut today, on August 28, as confirmed by TVS’s own posts. Unlike the iQube, this will be an all-new model developed with a fresh approach and a more accessible target audience in mind.

TVS Orbiter India Launch Details and Price Expectations

TVS has kept the specs and features of the scooter a well-kept secret until now. However, reports suggest that TVS is working on a straightforward, no-frills electric scooter powered by a hub-mounted motor to keep costs in check.

The Orbiter is expected to act as the entry point into TVS’s EV portfolio. Although Orbiter is tipped as the leading name, the company has also trademarked alternatives such as EV One and O.

Since the iQube already comes in multiple variants, it’s likely that the Orbiter will also be offered in different versions. The iQube currently ranges from ₹1 lakh for the base 2.2 kWh model to nearly ₹2 lakh for the top-spec 5.1 kWh version. Positioned below this, the Orbiter is expected to feature a smaller battery, simpler components, and fewer features – making it more affordable.

With EV adoption gaining momentum thanks to government incentives, manufacturers like TVS are steadily widening their portfolios with models at different price points to attract a broader customer base.
