Nissan’s New SUV Spotted Testing, Set to Rival Hyundai Creta and Seltos? Details Inside News24 –

The competition within the compact SUV space is heating up, with more and more OEMs trying to make a bigger splash in the segment. The segment might prove beneficial to position itself as a premium category, as it will compete against the likes of Creta, Seltos, Grand Vitara, Kushaq, and others.

This is not the first time the vehicle has been spotted testing; according to media reports, the SUV has been seen testing before as well. Judging by the dimensions that were apparent, the car would have a domineering presence with small overhangs that give it a bold, butch appeal. The DRLs were visible even under the camouflage, and the striking DRLs seem high-tech, making the car appear more enticing.

New Front Fascia Revealed

The inverted L-shaped LED DRLs add to the overall look of the vehicle. Media reports have further revealed that the car will be equipped with 225-section tyres wrapped around 18-inch alloy wheels. Most other rivals in the segment come with 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 215-section tyres.

Since Renault and Nissan share platforms, the new Nissan SUV is supposedly based on the platform of the new and upcoming Renault Duster. Both SUVs are expected to be loaded with components manufactured in India. There has been no official word regarding the powertrains for India, but with the new GST policy, it seems the brand will be adding a hybrid powertrain to the mix for sure.

It is also possible that Nissan might revive its Kicks moniker with a new update. The launch timeline is yet to be confirmed.
