Get Your PAN Card Instantly Using Aadhaar! Step-By-Step Guide To Apply Online News24 –


Permanent Account Number (PAN), a ten-digit alphanumeric number, issued by the Income Tax Department plays a key role in financial transactions. It was introduced to facilitates linking of various documents, including payment of taxes, assessment, tax demand, tax arrears etc. relating to an assessee, to facilitate easy retrieval of information and to facilitate matching of information relating to investment, raising of loans and other business activities for detecting and combating tax evasion and widening of tax base. It is one of the important documents that people should have. Moreover, it is mandatory to quote PAN on return of income, on challans for any payments due to Income Tax Department and other financial transactions.

PAN is issued in the form of a laminated card, but if you need it urgently then you can avail the e-PAN facility. Instant e-PAN service is available to all Individual taxpayers, who have not been allotted a PAN but have Aadhaar. 

How To Apply Online?

You can apply for an instant PAN card using Aadhaar by following these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official Income Tax e-filing website.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Instant E-PAN’ option.

Step 3: On the e-PAN page, click Get New e-PAN.

Step 4: On the Get New e-PAN page, enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number, select the checkbox and click Continue.

Step 5: On the OTP validation page, click consent terms and agree to proceed further. Click Continue. 

Step 6: On the Validate Aadhaar Details page, select the I Accept that checkbox and click Continue.

A message will be delivered after successful submission and you will be provided with acknowledgement for future reference. You can later check the status of your e-PAN request.
