Noida International Airport Launch Faces Delay! New Date To Be Finalized On March 10 News24 –

Noida International Airport Update: The much-anticipated launch of Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh is set to face a delay. Commercial flight operations are now likely to get delayed until after April 30. Earlier, commercial operations were slated to begin on 17 April 2025.  It’s been reported that a new launch date will be announced on review meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The review meeting has been scheduled for 10 March.

Reason Behind The Delay

The delay in the operation was informed by the Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) on Thursday. Authorities said that the commencement of commercial flight operations from the airport may be delayed as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is likely to issue the aerodrome licence only by April 30, HT reported.

Arun Vir Singh, chief executive officer, NIAL said, “The new date for commencement of commercial operations at Noida airport will be decided on March 10, when the Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath will review the progress on this project.”

Other officials added that a clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) will be required before flight operations. Also, only domestic flights are expected to start on the first day of operations. International flight operations are likely to face delays as the upper floor of the terminal building, designated for international passengers, is under construction.

Earlier, Union Minister for Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu stated, “Everything is going according to timelines and very soon in the month of April we will see regular operations starting from Jewar-Noida International Airport.”

Notably, a first flight validation test at the Noida Airport was conducted on December 9.

Along with the launch date, several key details like flight schedules, number of flights, and types of services for first phase is expected to be discussed in the meeting.
