Noida: The Noida Authority has announced to build two new underpasses on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway in front of Jhatta (on 16.900 km chainage) and Sultanpur village (on 6.10 km chainage). It was claimed that soon the tender will be issued and the company will be selected. However, this plan seems to be hanging after no further update regarding tender has been disclosed.
It is being told that after the Noida Authority issued the tender, five companies each came for the construction of both the underpasses. But it is claimed that all the companies have been rejected in the investigation. Now the tender will be issued again for construction of both the underpasses and one company will be selected. In such situation, delay in the construction of the underpasses is expected. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had laid the foundation stone of this project. Due to the delay in construction of the underpasses, the wait of about 10 lakh people has also increased.
Budget Increased To 215 Crores
According to the reports, the budget of both the underpasses has been changed. Earlier the budget of both the underpasses was Rs 181 crore, which has now increased to Rs 215 crore. In which the first underpass will be built on the 16.900 km chainage between Sector-145, 146 155 and 159 on the expressway. Its length will be 800 meters. Now about Rs 115 crore will be spent on its construction. This will benefit the newly developed/under development industrial sectors-151, 153, 154, 155, 156, 157, 158, 159, 162 and 9 villages.
Rs 181 Crore To Be Spent On Second Underpass
The second underpass will be built between Sector-128, 129, 132 and 108 at a change of 6.10 km on the expressway near Sultanpur. Its length will be 731 meters. A total of Rs 100 crore will be spent on its construction. Sector-104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 110, 80, 81, 82, 83, 127, 128, 129, 130, 131, 132, 133, 134, 135, Phase-2, NSEZ and 11 villages will benefit from this underpass.
Underpass To Be Constructed With This Technology
Both underpasses will be constructed with diaphragm technology. The technology has been changed in the underpass being built this time. After 2020, Kondli, Advent and Sector-96 underpasses were built on box pushing technology on the expressway. In this, the problem of road collapse of the expressway was constantly coming up. Therefore, this time the authority has selected diaphragm technology for the construction of the underpasses.
How Will The Construction Be Done?
It is being told that with this technique, the Diaphragm wall will be cast without digging. After this, this wall will be built inside the ground on both sides and the roof of the underpass will be placed on it. The soil between the two walls and the roof will be dug out and removed. After this, the work of the road below will start. Similarly, the authority will get the work done on both lanes. Due to this, traffic will be affected for a few days.
