Noida: Good news for Commuters! The long-awaited Shahberi-Crossings Republik Road has now officially been opened to the public. The completion of the road widening project has eased the movement of traffic between Greater Noida West and Ghaziabad. The 15-meter-wide road has been expanded by 3 meters. After the addition of 1.5 metres on each side, the road aims to facilitate smoother travel for daily commuters and motorists.

Newly Developed Road To Ease Traffic

Alongside the Shahberi-Crossings Republik Road, a modern drainage system has also been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 4 crore. According to Greater Noida Authority CEO NG Ravi Kumar, residents and regular travelers will see significant relief from heavy traffic congestion. The road’s narrow width will play an essential role in cutting down travel time on one of the busiest stretches.

Authority Warns Shopkeeper Against Encroachment

In view of the redevelopment work, the 3-km-long route linking Iteda to Crossings Republik via Shahberi was closed from March 25, 2025, for two months. Thousands of commuters, including office-goers, use the road daily for commuting to Noida, Delhi, and Ghaziabad. Meanwhile, the authority has warned shopkeepers against encroaching on the revamped stretch. Strict action will be taken against those who violate.

Six-lane Underpass To Reduce Traffic On Taj Highway

According to reports, the Authority is also developing a 720-m-long, six-lane underpass on Taj Highway. The stretch will reduce traffic snarls between Greater Noida and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. It is expected to be ready within 18 months. As construction proceeds at Gaur Chowk, traffic will be diverted through the Shahberi-Crossing Republik road.
