Scorching Heat Grips Capital, IMD Issues Orange Alert As Temperature Set To Soar Above 45°C News24 –


Delhi Weather Update: Delhi is reeling under a scorching heat with maximum temperature recorded at 43.4°C on Monday. There has been a significant rise in maximum temperature across the national capital, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert for heatwave conditions for most days this week. The sudden increase in temperature has caused discomfort for residents. According to the IMD, maximum temperatures are expected to rise by 3°C in the next three days and reach 45°C. Due to this heat wave conditions are likely to continue till June 11.

Weather Forecast For Tuesday, June 10

It will be a sunny day in the national capital, with a heatwave forecast and maximum temperatures expected to remain in the range of 43-45°C. The IMD has issued an orange alert for extreme heat on Tuesday, June 10. Dust raising winds with speeds 20-30 kmph are likely in Delhi. The sky will remain mainly clear, with humidity levels around 48 degrees Celsius. Tuesday will be a hot day and residents are advised to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from the intense weather condition.

Weather Forecast For This Week

Delhiites are not going to see relief until June 13, as hot and humid conditions will continue to prevail. IMD scientist Akhil Srivastava in conversation with ANI, said that the temperature is expected to rise above 45°C on Tuesday, creating heatwave conditions in isolated places.

“If we talk about Northwest India, then for the next four days, most of the subdivisions—especially in the plains—are likely to experience heatwave conditions. In Delhi NCR, the temp is expected to rise above 45 degrees Celsius today and tomorrow, creating heatwave conditions in isolated places. A yellow alert has been issued for the region,” said Srivastava.

Moreover, on the basis of present data, the IMD has issued an orange alert of heatwave for Wednesday and Thursday. A yellow alert for thunderstorm with rain has been for Friday and Saturday.

June 11: Strong surface winds will prevail during day time. The sky will remain clear with maximum temperature at 44°C. An orange alert for heatwave has been issued by the IMD.

June 12: Mainly Clear sky is expected with maximum temperature at 44°C. Hot and humid condition will prevail.

June 13: The weather may change from Friday as the sky will turn partly cloudy with maximum temperature in the range of 41-43°C. Thunderstorm with rain has been predicted for the day. However, hot and humid conditions will continue to prevail.

June 14: Partly cloudy sky with maximum temperature at 40°C is expected on Saturday. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds is predicted.

June 15: Rain or Thundershowers is expected to lash Delhi on Sunday. The maximum temperature will remain 38°C.
