There is a good news for commuters as the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has successfully completed a scheduled trial run of Namo Bharat trains on the entire Namo Bharat corridor between Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan and Modipuram in Meerut. Remarkably, the train covered the full 82 km journey in less than an hour.

The trial run conducted on India’s first Namo Bharat corridor is a significant milestone, enhancing connectivity across the region. Notably, the Namo Bharat corridor runs between Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut.
The Namo Bharat trains, running seamlessly, covered 82 km stretch at their maximum operational speed of 160 km per hour. Moreover, trains halted at every station between Sarai Kale Khan and Modipuram, completing the distance in less than an hour. This was the schedule targeted by NCRTC.
The Namo Bharat corridor features world’s first deployment of an advanced ETCS Level 3 hybrid signalling system over an LTE backbone. This signalling system has been integrated with platform screen doors (PSDs) and is installed at every station.
