Expect traffic snarls on Delhi borders at Noida due to Independence Day security drill, as part of which trucks have been stopped from entering the capital.
The traffic restrictions, routinely practised ahead of Independence Day celebrations every year, were announced by Gautam Budh Nagar traffic police, which bars the entry of commercial vehicles – heavy, medium and light.
The traffic police advisory asked the people to factor in these restrictions that may cause traffic congestion. According to the traffic police advisory, restrictions were in place from August 12 and remain in force till Wednesday and again will be imposed from Thursday night and will be in force till August 15 events are over in Delhi.
The comprehensive advisory said traffic restrictions will be in force and cited heightened security arrangements around the high-security zones like the Red Fort.

Alternate Routes For Vehicles
- Vehicles entering Delhi from the Chilla Red Light (Border) and heading elsewhere will be able to take a U-turn at Chilla Red Light and proceed towards their destination via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
- Vehicles entering Delhi from the DND (Border) and heading elsewhere will be able to take a U-turn at the DND Toll Plaza and proceed towards their destination via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
- Vehicles entering Delhi from Kalindi Kunj Yamuna (Border) and heading elsewhere will be diverted from the underpass intersection before the Yamuna River and can proceed towards their destination via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
- Vehicles heading towards Delhi from the Yamuna Expressway via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be able to proceed towards their destination from Zero Point via Pari Chowk, P-3, Kasna, and Sirsa using the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
- Vehicles heading towards Delhi from Pari Chowk via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be able to proceed towards their destination from Pari Chowk via P-3, Kasna, and Sirsa using the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
