A 35-year-old man serving at Kalkaji Temple was murdered on following a dispute over ‘Chunni Prasad’. He was a resident of Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh and had been serving at the temple for about 14–15 years.
The police received a PCR call at around 9:30 pm, following which the team immediately reached the spot. Initial investigation revealed that some people had come to the temple for darshan. After darshan, they asked Yogendra for ‘Chunni Prasad’, which led to a dispute. After this, the accused attacked them with sticks and punches.

Yogendra was taken to AIIMS Trauma Center in an injured condition, where he died during treatment. Police have registered a case under Section 103(1)/3(5) of the BNS in this matter.
Local people present at the spot caught 30-year-old Atul Pandey, resident of Dakshinpuri, and handed him over to the police. The search for other accused is on.
