In a significant crackdown, the Noida Authority has issued notices to 3500 house owners. Under Section 10, all homeowners are ordered to remove encroachment from in front of their houses. The authority has threatened to cancel the allotment if they do not comply. The action has sparked buzz among the residents.
On Tuesday, the residents, along with FONRWA President Yogendra Sharma, met ACEO, Noida Authority, Krishna Karunesh. The people appealed that the allotment should not be canceled in such a case. Rather, the authority should form a committee and investigate the matter. A similar decision was previously taken by the Delhi Authority but was later withdrawn. In such a situation, the authority should reconsider its decision.
Noida Authority is currently running a campaign against illegal encroachments. The Authority recently demolished farmhouses built in the doab area, which were under an encroachment removal notice. However, the High Court has put a stay on it. The next hearing is scheduled for September 24. The final action on the notice issued to 3500 house owners is awaited.
If a policy similar to Delhi is adopted in this case, then the authority may impose a fine depending on the area of encroachment in front of the house.
