Greater Noida: In view of the upcoming UP International Trade Show, the work of expanding the roads from all sides is currently ongoing to improve the traffic flow around India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The road, roughly one kilometer in length, from the Galgotia Underpass to the Nasa Parking roundabout, is being widened by 1.5 meters on both sides. The construction, which began on Tuesday, is estimated to be completed before the event.
Sunil Kumar Singh, ACEO of Greater Noida, said that traffic congestion has become a recurring issue during the national and international events held at Expo Mart. Due to this, the road from Galgotia Underpass to Nasa Parking Gol Chakkar is being widened for smooth movement of vehicles.
According to the Senior Manager of Greater Noida Authority, Rajesh Kumar Nim, as of now, a temporary widening of the road is being implemented. However, the authority plans to expand the road to eight lanes in the future. A detailed action plan will soon be prepared after seeking administrative approval.
To reduce traffic snarls, the stretch around the Nasa parking roundabout has already been converted into four lanes. This will not only be beneficial for the Expo Mart but also for the educational institutions and corporate offices operating in the area. Additionally, the road from the Nasa parking to the LG roundabout via Sharda University will also be widened to six lanes. This 1400-m-long road currently has four lanes, which will be expanded by one lane on each side.
More than 2500 exhibitors are expected to participate in the UP International Trade Show to be held at India Expo Mart from September 25 to 29.
