New Delhi: In a shocking incident that took place in Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan area, a senior official of the Finance Ministry, Navjot Singh, was killed after a BMW hit his motorcycle on Sunday. Following the incident, the deceased’s son, Navnoor Singh, has alleged multiple irregularities. “There are many superspeciality hospitals near Dhaula Kuan and AIIMS too, if they had been sent there, he could have been saved,” he said while speaking to ANI.

Navnoor informed that he had just returned from a friend’s house when he received a text from his mother saying that she was going to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib. He added that she did not pick up his call, and later, a family friend told him about the fatal accident. He said, “I got a call from a family friend who told me about the accident and that my parents are admitted to Nulife Hospital in GTB Nagar. The accident happened around 1 or 1.30 pm, a girl driving a BMW hit my parents’ motorcycle.”

Navnoor alleged that he sensed something was wrong as they were taken to a hospital, which was 20 kilometers away from the accident spot. “My father was declared dead in the hospital, but people there said that death instantly after an accident is very rare. There are many superspeciality hospitals near Dhaula Kuan and AIIMS too; if they had been sent there, he could have been saved.”

He further noted that those present in the car sustained minor injuries. “Nulife Hospital in GTB Nagar belongs to the girl driving the BMW, and her husband was also admitted to the same hospital. My parents were sent to the hospital in a delivery van. When my mother gained consciousness, she was in the passenger seat and looked back to see my father lying down,” he added.

Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Navjot Singh, a resident of Hari Nagar, was returning home from Bangla Sahib Gurudwara with his wife at the time of the accident. Three, including his wife, were injured in the tragic event and are currently undergoing treatment.
