Trainee Doctor Jumps From 21st Floor While Parents Were In Next Room News24 –

A 29-year-old medical student committed suicide on Monday by jumping from the 21st floor of a residential building in Noida Extension.

The man, Shiva, was visiting his sister’s house in Gaur City 2 with his parents. In a statement, Additional DCP (Central Noida) Shavya Goyal said Shiva exited to the balcony, purportedly at 14th Avenue, and jumped from the 21st floor. He was subsequently transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“On Monday, at 14th Avenue, Gaur City 2, under the jurisdiction of Bisrakh Police Station, the man identified as Shiva committed suicide by jumping from the 21st floor. He was taken for treatment but was declared dead by doctors,” Goyal said.

Shiva was from Mathura and was pursuing an MBBS degree from a private medical college in Delhi, having joined the class of 2015. However, because he began experiencing mental health concerns subsequent to having Covid-19 in previous years, he had taken a break from practicing in medicine since 2020, which led to considerable distress and depression.

There was no suicide note at the location of the incident. The members of Shiva’s family were present at the time of the event. The police have secured his body and are currently processing it for a postmortem examination.

There is an investigation underway to provide more clarity regarding the suicide. Additional DCP Goyal stated that the family is being cooperative with the police and will address any additional reports.
