Air Quality Dips to 338, No Relief in Sight as ‘Very Poor’ Air Predicted for Next 48 Hours News24 –


Delhi AQI today, October 22, 2025: Delhiites woke up surrounded by a heavy blanket of smog on Wednesday. The Air Quality Index (AQI) across Delhi saw a significant drop, plummeting to 338 under the ‘very poor’ category at 8 am. Just two days after Diwali, the alarmingly high pollution levels took a big dip, raising concerns regarding the deteriorating air quality. While Akshardham registered a concerning AQI of 360 under the ‘very poor’ category this morning, the air quality plummeted to 380 around RK Puram, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Delhi AQI: Check Forecast For Next Two Days

The decline in the air purity is expected to continue, according to the Air Quality Early Warning System. The air quality is very likely to be in the ‘very poor’ category for the next two days, until October 24, 2025. The outlook for the subsequent 6 Days shows a very Poor to Poor category. Meanwhile, Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Tuesday reaffirmed the BJP government’s plan to induce artificial rain through cloud seeding to combat pollution levels.

AQI In Other Places In Delhi

AQI plunged to 403 under the ‘hazardous’ category in Anand Vihar, while Jahangirpuri recorded an air quality index of 274 at 8 am on October 22. The other regions include Rohini (277), Wazirpur (302), Bawana (228), ITI Shahdra (188), Vivek Vihar (255), Ashok Vihar (277), Sonia Vihar (211), Patparganj (287), Chandni Chowk (227), Okhla Phase 2 (341), Lodhi Road 2 (188), Sri Aurobindo Marg (271), and Najafgarh (2).

AQI Readings

AQI readings are categorized as follows: 0–50 (Good),51–100 (Satisfactory), 101–200 (Moderate), 201–300 (Poor), 301–400 (Very Poor), and 401–500 (Severe). The other areas that saw a sharp rise in pollution levels are:
