Delhi News: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his wife and later called the police, claiming she had died by suicide. The incident has been reported from Delhi’s Keshav Puram and the accused husband has been taken into custody.

Police stated that the accused, identified as Dinesh Sharma strangled his wife, Sushma Sharma, before reporting her death as a suicide in their home. When police arrived at his residence, they discovered the body of 40-year-old Sushma on the floor. The couple’s 11-year-old daughter was also in the room but was asleep on the bed, according to officials.

Accused Confesses to Crime

During the interrogation by the police, the accused admitted that he had killed his wife by smothering her with a pillow. Police have taken possession of the body of 40-year-old Sushma and sent it to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Reportedly, the accused works as a priest in a temple.

NDTV quoted Ashok Kumar, the victim’s brother, who alleged that police are not acting on family’s concerns. “She died late last evening, around 12 or 1 am. But the police informed us about it only this morning at 6 am,” Kumar said. Furthermore, the family has claimed an extramarital affair of the accused as a reason behind the murder.

Meanwhile, in another incident reported from Karnataka’s Bidar district, a man was allegedly beaten to death over suspicion of an extramarital affair. The man was assaulted by the family members of the woman after being tied to a pole. The victim was identified as Vishnu, a native of Maharashtra’s Gaunagaon village in Nanded district.
