Delhi Weather News Updates: To combat rising air pollution, all commercial goods vehicles will be banned from entering Delhi beginning November 1. According to information received, the Air Quality Management Commission has directed that all commercial goods trucks with a BS-VI rating or lower be restricted from entering Delhi beginning November 1. BS-VI CNG, LNG, and EVs will be excluded. Simultaneously, registered vehicles would be able to move around Delhi.
Air Quality Index (AQI) Delhi Directives
Delhi is open to all BS-IV commercial goods carriers, including LGVs, MGVs, and HGVs, until October 31st. On the Commission for Air Quality Management’s directives, the Delhi Transport Department had already issued the directive. The administration made it quite clear that until October 31, 2026, only commercial goods vehicles meeting the BS-6 criteria will be permitted to enter the city.

Air Pollution Delhi: Permitted Vehicles
Only electric goods vehicles will be permitted to enter Delhi after this, as these vehicles will also be prohibited. According to a senior transportation department official, the decision was made with the intention of preventing polluting vehicles from entering neighboring states and improving Delhi’s air quality over time.

Recently, the wind’s changed direction and reduced speed have helped to lower air pollution in the city. The air quality index (AQI) for Monday was 301, 30 points lower than it was on Sunday. Throughout the day, there was a light haze in the sky, reducing visibility.

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has warned that the air quality will be poor on Thursday. On Monday, the wind blew at 10 kilometers per hour from the south-east. The CPCB said that more than 400 indicators were registered in Anand Vihar. On October 14, Delhi’s air quality had dropped to the bad level for the season. Since then, pollution levels have remained poor or extremely poor.
