The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the expansion of platforms at 32 metro stations with the aim of reducing peak-hour congestion.
According to PTI, the DMRC has already floated a tender with an estimated expenditure of Rs 5.71 crore, and the work is expected to be completed within a year from the commencement date.
The metro stations identified for expansion include Noida Sector-15, Noida Sector-16, Noida Sector-18, Golf Course, and Noida City Centre on Line 3 (Blue Line), along with Laxmi Nagar, Nirman Vihar, and Preet Vihar.
A DMRC official said that the expansion of platforms would help accommodate more passengers and enable the handling of longer trains.
“This step will make boarding and deboarding easier, reduce congestion, and make travel more comfortable for passengers, especially during peak hours,” news agency PTI quoted the official as saying.
