Greater Noida to Get Two Power Substations for New Industrial Zone News24 –

Ensuring an uninterrupted power supply for the upcoming Ecotech 16 industrial sector, the Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL) is planning to install two new power substations.

According to a report published by The Times of India (TOI), work has already started to install 86 overhead poles over a two-kilometre stretch connecting the area to a 33 kV substation in Sunpura for initial power needs.

The report mentioned that a 220 kV substation will cater to the additional demand.

Industries have already requested power connections from UPPTCL. Renewable energy company Avaada has sought 120 MW for its first phase, while several other companies have also approached the UPPTCL with their power requirements.

The TOI report cited a GNIDA official as saying that the laying of overhead cables is underway and is expected to be completed by early next month. In the initial phase, the sector is being linked to the 33 kV substation in Sunpura, which will also support Sectors 10 and 12.

The report further stated that a new 220 kV substation in Ecotech 16 is in the pipeline, and it is anticipated that it will meet the future power demands of both industrial and commercial units. A UPPTCL executive engineer told The Times of India that the construction work for the substation will be completed by the end of 2026, with the project cost estimated at ₹226 crore.
