Delhi AQI Today: Air Quality Deteriorates to ‘Very Poor’, Breaches 400 Mark in Many Areas


Delhi AQI Today: Delhi and the neighboring NCR cities continue to grapple with ‘toxic’ air quality Index amid rising cold. The AQI on Thursday was recorded at 357 under the ‘very poor’ category at 9 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board. Following the failure of two cloud seeding trials, the government plans to carry it out within the next 3 to 4 days when moisture levels reach 40 to 50% in clouds. There is no forecast of rain in the capital this week. However, shallow fog and mist shall prevail over the city till November 4, 2025.

The deteriorating air quality has sparked tension among residents and authorities, as most areas in Delhi were registered to be in the red zone. ITO registered a concerning AQI of 359 this morning, while the air quality plummeted to 409 in Akshardham and the surrounding areas. ‘Hazardous’ AQI of 409 was also recorded in Anand Vihar, as per CPCB. Low visibility and fog led to significant disruptions in the city during the early hours. Moreover, the air quality around Lodhi Road plunged to 325 under the ‘very poor’ category.

In view of the deteriorating pollution levels, enhanced anti-pollution curbs were invoked under GRAP Stage II. The Rekha Gupta-led Delhi government has deployed water sprinklers in several areas of the capital to combat pollution.

AQI In Other Places In Delhi

AQI plunged to 423 in Jahangirpuri, while nsit Dwarka recorded an air quality index of 216 at 8 am on October 30. The other areas include Rohini (404), Wazirpur (398), Bawana (370), Vivek Vihar (387), Ashok Vihar (378), Sonia Vihar (355), Patparganj (373), Nehru Nagar (379), Siri Fort (355), Okhla Phase 2 (427), Lodhi Road 2 (205), Najafgarh (243), and Sri Aurobindo Marg (194).

Delhi AQI: Check Forecast For Next Two Days

The decline in the air purity will continue, according to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi. The air quality is likely to be in the ‘poor’ category until October 31, 2025. Thereafter, the air quality will shift to the ‘very poor’ category on November 1. The outlook for the subsequent 6 Days shows a poor to very poor category.

Air Quality In Ghaziabad, Noida And Gurugram

The neighboring cities also recorded high AQI levels today. Ghaziabad records an AQI of 396, while Noida and Gurugram register AQIs of 349 and 396.
