The Delhi government has introduced a new initiative for women and transgender residents in the city. The personalized ‘Pink Saheli Smart Card’ was launched last Sunday to provide free travel all across the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses. Females and transgender individuals above the age of 12 years can now hop on free rides across the national capital.
In a post on X, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the newly unveiled scheme is an important step towards simplifying travel for women in Delhi. “This initiative is an important step towards making travel easier for women in Delhi, promoting the use of public transport and giving more facilities and respect to women power,” she said.

The ‘Pink Saheli Smart Card’ scheme is part of Delhi’s ongoing mission to improve safety standards, mobility, and inclusivity in public transport. The unlimited free ride applies to all women and transgender passengers above the age of 12 years across the public buses in Delhi.
Pink Saheli Smart Card Registration Process
- Those eligible can register online by visiting the Delhi Transport Department’s official website
- Passengers can also visit designated DTC counters physically
- The Pink Saheli card will be issued after registration.
