Fire breaks out in slum near Rithala Metro station, one dead News24 –


Delhi: A fire broke out on Saturday morning in a slum area near the Rithala metro station in Delhi. Firefighting teams rushed to the site and are working to bring the blaze under control. Delhi Fire Service stated that one body has been recovered, while one injured is undergoing treatment at the Safdarjung Hospital.

More details are awaited on the fire that rapidly spread through the Bengali Basti huts situated between the metro station and the Delhi Jal Board premises. 29 fire tenders have been deployed to the site.

Times Now quoted fire officer SK Dua, saying, “We received information about the fire and immediately dispatched 29 fire tenders to the site. The fire has now been brought under control. One child was injured and taken to the hospital.”
