BIG relief for commuters as THIS road to serve as alternative to Noida Expressway, it starts from…, name is…

The Uttar Pradesh government has accelerated work on the Yamuna Pushta Road project, seen as an alternative to the Noida Expressway. A high-level meeting was held recently to discuss key aspects of the project, which had earlier faced delays after the Irrigation Department refused to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for construction near the Yamuna embankment.

What’s the project?

Under the Yamuna Pushta Road project in Noida, the government aims to build a 30km elevated expressway along the Yamuna embankment from Kalindi Kunj to the Yamuna Expressway. This road is poised to serve as an alternative to the heavily congested Noida Expressway, linking Delhi, Noida, and the upcoming Jewar Airport. According to ToI report, the recent meeting mainly focused on deciding which agency would implement the Yamuna Pushta Road project, how it would be funded, and which technical design would work best, considering the constraints of the Yamuna embankment.

How will it benefit commuters?

The 30-kilometre-long expressway is expected to bring significant benefits to people in the Delhi-NCR region. The plan is to create a high-capacity, elevated corridor parallel to the Noida Expressway. Once complete and operational, it will decongest traffic between Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and the Noida International Airport, bringing significant relief to commuters. According to the proposal, the Yamuna Pushta Road will start from Kalindi Kunj, connecting Yamuna Expressway at Pari Chowk, Sector 150 and leading towards the Jewar Airport.

Meanwhile, the Noida Authority has stated that the Yamuna Pushta Road project will progress smoothly once all necessary approvals are obtained and the issue regarding the road’s classification is resolved.
