Anil Kapoor’s late father, Surinder Kapoor, was a film producer who made many movies. When Surinder moved to Mumbai with his family, they had no place to stay. They lived in Raj Kapoor’s garage before renting a room. Anil’s father, Surinder, and Raj Kapoor’s father, Prithviraj Kapoor, were cousins.

Few people know that Anil Kapoor began his career as a lead actor in Telugu cinema, not Hindi cinema. He starred in the 1980 Telugu film ‘Vamsa Vriksham’. Before this, he had a supporting role in the 1979 Bollywood film ‘Humare Tumhare’. Anil also did supporting roles in three more films before playing the lead in the 1983 Bollywood film ‘Woh Saat Din’.
