Diwali 2024 Exclusive | Manav Gohil On Missing Festivals Due To Work: ‘Have To Apologise To My Daughter’
Manav Gohil has been a prominent name in the television industry for several years. With the busy schedules of the actors, he knows how to balance spending time with family in festivities and completing shooting schedules. In an exclusive chat with News24, Manav shared if he ever regretted being away from his family during festivals and how actors have commitments to complete.
While talking about being away from family during special occasions, Manav tells us that he does not regret that because it is a part of being an actor. He shares, “Honestly, I do not regret because it was a choice and it is something that I knew. But yes, television is demanding. Why just television? A lot of times you have a lot of deliverables, you know, even, even if you do OTTs or films, or sometimes you have to finish some work so you overshoot.”
The ‘Tenali Rama’ actor reveals he has to sometimes apologise to his daughter Zahra for not being there for her in some situations due to his busy schedule. He adds, “There are certain commitments or certain expectations from your family. Fortunately, Shweta is also an actor, so she understands this. Sometimes, I have to apologise to Zahra for not being able to be there when they were expecting me. But that’s a compromise. It’s a trade off that one has to make to be a part of the industry. It’s glamor from the outside, and only from the outside.”
Manav further shares what Diwali tradition he would like his daughter to carry forward to. He shares, “ I would want Zahra to understand the significance of Diwali and other days around it. I have been working on cultivating the ‘Indianness’ in her, which I feel is deprived in textbooks or in schools as they sometimes lack the traditional understanding of how or why these festivities are there. I take the opportunity, not just Diwali, but every festival. I try to instill the emotions underlying of that festival in her. I hope that she can carry that forward, because in years to come, the whole world is going to be very merged in. There’s going to be cross-cultural relationships and you don’t know how long Indianness would last. But I would want that to last for a very long time.”
On the work front, Manav was recently seen in the television show ‘Dabangii – Mulgii Aayi Re Aayi’.
