Empuraan Box Office Collection Day 7 – Mohanlal’s Action Thriller Sees A Sharp Dip As Censored Version Of The Film Releases! News24 –

Mohanlal’s much anticipated film, L2: Empuraan finally hit the big screens on 27th March, 2025 setting an unimaginable record on its opening day. The Prithviraj Sukumaran directed mass entertainer has received lot of love from the audience. The film’s opening day collection is more than twice the previous highest for a Malayalam film which clearly depicts Mohanlal’s unmatched stardom and immense popularity.

According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs.21 crore in India, surpassing all previous Malayalam film records. On its day 2 and 3, the film had collected approx Rs 11crore and Rs13.37 crore respectively and on day four the film earned Rs.14 crore, on the occassion of Eid, day 5 the film earned Rs.8.59 crore, on its 6th day the film earned Rs,7.05 crore and on its seventh day the film earned only Rs.5.50 crore bringing its total collection to approx Rs. 82 crore.

FEFKA Backs L2: Empuraan

As per reports L:2 Empuraan makers had to make 24 cuts to the film after it was criticised for not depicting the actual Gujarat Riots 2002 after which the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) voiced its support for lead actors Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The organisation recently issued a statement regarding the personal attacks being made against the actors and said, “We welcome criticism of the film’s form and content without any compromises. Only through constructive criticism can an art form truly evolve. However, we firmly believe that criticism should not descend into personal attacks, threats, or branding, regardless of political or religious affiliations.”
