Nushrratt Bharrucha Accepts She Was ‘Hurt’ On Being Replaced By Ananya Panday In Dream Girl 2: ‘It’s Just Not Cool’

Nushrratt Bharrucha, in a recent interview, talked about being replaced by Ananya Panday in Dream Girl 2 and admitted that she was hurt by it. In Dream Girl, the actress played the role of Mahi Rajput, who was the love interest of Ayushmann Khurrana’s character. While speaking to Nayandeep Rakshit, Nushrratt also said she did not fight to be the part of Dream Girl 2 because it is the filmmaker’s choice in the end.

Expressing how she was hurt with being replaced in Dream Girl 2, she said, “It hurt me even more when I was not a part of my own sequel also. Every other actor was the same, except the girl, which I felt was not cool na, guys? It’s just not cool. Theek hai, no problem.”

She added, “I can’t fight something I know is not going to change in any way, where I know there is no… What do I fight? What am I going to say? ‘Why not me?’ They’ll say, “We don’t want you.’ That’s the truth of it. It ends there. Eventually, it’s a choice somebody’s making. I cannot question your choice.”

On the work front, Nushrratt is recently seen in Chhorii 2. The movie is set seven years after the events of its first part and will again focus on Sakshi, who is living peacefully with her daughter, Ishani, far from the horrors of their past. However, Ishani suffers from a rare condition that forces her to live in darkness, as sunlight could kill her.

Things take a turn when a ghostly figure appears in Ishani’s room and she disappears. With the held of Inspector Samar, Sakshi goes back to the haunted village to find Ishaani and comes across Daasi, a shape-shifting priestess.

The movie also stars Soha Ali Khan and is streaming on Prime Video.
