The much anticipated fifth season of Netflix’s hit series “Emily in Paris” is set to begin filming in May 2025, with production starting in Rome before moving to Paris later this summer, and star Lily Collins will return as Emily Cooper according to media reports.
As per the media outlets, the story will pick up where Season 4 left off, with Emily possibly leading a new office for Agence Grateau in Rome giving her a reason to stay in Italy near her new romantic interest, Marcello, and leaving things uncertain with Gabriel.
Whereas Netflix has confirmed most main cast members ” and it will feature Collins (Emily Cooper), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie), Thalia Besson (Genevieve) and Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello) will all reprise their roles, as per the report.
Former cast member Camille Razat, who played Camille in the first four seasons, won’t be returning this time.
Lucas Bravo’s return as Gabriel is surprising because earlier he had expressed frustration with how his character was written. According to The Hollywood Reporter he said that “I want to see if Gabriel gets back to his fun, cheeky, playful, alive self. Because three seasons playing melancholic, sad, depressed and lost is not fun anymore. It’s a comedy, everybody is having fun around me, everybody is jumping around, and I’m just slowly sinking into god knows what.”
Even though Netflix hasn’t announced an official release date yet, Season 5 is expected to premiere later this year.
