Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is reportedly set to star in the Hindi remake of the 2016 Malayalam thriller “Oppam,” which originally featured Mohanlal. According to media sources director Priyadarshan who is known for remaking his own films across languages is likely to direct this remake film.
In the original, Mohanlal played a blind man who gets caught up in a murder case and ends up as the prime suspect. Saif will reportedly take on this challenging role in the Hindi version. According to Bollywood Hungama, Saif will portray a visually impaired character in the film, a role he confirmed with excitement, stating, “Yes, I am doing a film with Priyadarshan next. I play a blind guy. Very exciting.”
There’s also speculation about Bobby Deol possibly playing the antagonist, a role played by Tamil actor Samuthirakani in the original movie. However, Bobby’s role in the film is not confirmed yet.
Earlier reports had suggested Ajay Devgn was in consideration for the lead role, but it seems he is no longer part of the project.
